| He is Full Professor of “Microbiology and Clinical Microbiology” at the Dept of Molecular Medicine – Sapienza University. He took a position at Institute of Virology/Sapienza University (1989) and then at the Department of Biomedicine/University of Pisa (1992). His group’s research currently focuses on interferons and pathogenesis, control, and diagnosis of several viral infections: SARS- CoV-2, HIV, HCV, main respiratory viruses, and HPV. He participates in several national and international research projects. He has authored and co-authored more than 300 peer-reviewed articles and is now serving as co-editor or member of the editorial board of several peer-reviewed Journals. |
