Sergio Iavicoli

Director of the Directorate-General for Communication and European, International Relations of the Ministry of Health, Italy

Dr Iavicoli got his medical degree in Occupational Medicine at the University of Rome “Sapienza”. He completed his PhD at University of Cagliari. Currently he is Director of the Directorate-General for Communication and European and International Relations of the Ministry of Health. Previously served as Director of the Research Department of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, Epidemiology and Hygiene of the Italian Workers’ Compensation Authority (INAIL) and as Secretary General of the International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH). He served as Member of national/international Committees including the Advisory Committee of the Global Network of WHO Collaborating Centers in Occupational Health.

 

Hellen Idler

Samuel Candler Dobbs Professor of Sociology at Emory University, USA

Ellen Idler is the Samuel Candler Dobbs Professor of Sociology at Emory University. She holds additional faculty positions in the Center for Ethics, the Rollins School of Public Health, and the Graduate Division of Religion at Emory. Her research on religion as a social determinant of health is reflected in Religion as a Social Determinant of Public Health (E. Idler, Editor, Oxford University Press, 2014). Her work on health and aging is widely cited. She is an Academic Editor for PLoS One and sits on the editorial boards of the Journal of Gerontology: Social Sciences and Innovation in Aging.
