Graduated in medicine in 1975 and specialized in orthopedics and traumatology in 1978 and in Rehabilitation in 1980, in the school of Rome with Giorgio Monticelli, he dedicated himself to vertebral surgery, mainly of severe scoliosis in 1979 with internships in Lyon, with Pierre Stagnara, in Boston with Hall, in Los Angeles with Brown and in Hong Kong with Leong. In 1982 he became secretary of the European Society of Vertebral Deformities, founded by Pierre Stagnara, Alf Nachemson, Giorgio Monticelli. Since 1987 Associate Professor of the University of L’Aquila, since 98 full Professor and Director of specialization school of orthopedics. In 2004 he returned to Sapienza, chief of service first in Latina and, since 2017, in Rome. From 2016 Vice President and from 2018 to 2021 President of the Italian Society of Vertebral Surgery, Italian Scoliosis Group SICV&GIS. In 2022 President of the Spine 20 meeting, advocacy group for the G20 in Rome. |
