Main position/role: President of North American Spine Society/ Clinical Professor, Arizona College of Medicine, USA
President of the North American Spine Society, Dr. Dohring trained at Yale Medical School, Spine Institute of New England, & Harborview Hospital. Founder & director of the multidisciplinary Spine Institute of Arizona, he has trained over 25 spine surgery fellows, and has done IDE research on artificial disc replacement and minimally invasive surgery. Dedicated to education, he has lectured world- wide, and has been on the ACGME, ABOS, AAOS, & NASS Spine Surgery Residency/ Fellowship Guidelines Committees. Editorial Board member of The Spine Journal, he is corresponding author of “Lumbar Disc Nomenclature: Version 2.0”, the only paper published simultaneously in SPINE & The Spine Journal. He has volunteered his surgical skills in Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Haiti, Cambodia and Nepal. Outside the world of spine care, he is an avid mountain climber, and summited Mount Everest in 2019.
