| Franco Locatelli, Full Professor of Pediatrics at Sapienza, University of Rome, is the Head of the Department of Pediatric Haematology/Oncology, at Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital. In 2019 he was appointed President of the Italian Higher Council of Health, by the Ministry of Health. He is also serving as coordinator of the Technical-Scientific Committee for the COVID-19 pandemic. National coordinator for different clinical trials on pediatric malignancies, he leads the largest program on childhood haematopoietic stem cell transplantation, the first-in-human academic trials on CAR T-cell for lymphoid malignancies and neuroblastoma and the trials on gene therapy/genome editing for hemoglobinopathies in Italy. |
